best dog parks in atlanta

Warmer weather in #Georgia means that everyone is trying to get outside more. For some that means taking a walk on The BeltLine or finally being able to take their dog to one of Atlanta's finest dog parks. Dog parks are a great place for your dog to meet new furry friends and for you to let them roam freely. It also gives you both a way to exercise and let out extra energy. Here are some of the best dog parks around #Atlanta:

  • Piedmont Dog Park

Piedmont Park is centrally located in the city and is sure to be crowded on a pretty day. Your dog must be on a leash in most areas, but there are some large and small breed sections available where your dog can roam leash free. This park is open 6 AM to 11 PM daily.

  • Freedom Barkway

Named after the street, Freedom Parkway, this dog park is located in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. The park features small and large breed sections so that your pet can be free to roam safely.

  • ParkGrounds

Not your typical dog park, ParkGrounds is a coffee shop that serves all day breakfast for their guests. Located on Flat Shoals Avenue, the venue is fun for all friends. Note: the dog park is for paying customers only.

  • Canine Crossing Dog Park

This park located in South Fulton splits more than five acres into two small off-leash areas. There is also a walking path and covered pavilion to enjoy. This park is great for any size dog.

  • Atlantic Station Dog Park

The Atlantic Station Dog Park is perfect for smaller breeds. Larger dogs, however, wouldn't enjoy this park as it isn't very spacious. If you're looking for somewhere to get your apartment dog out of the house, this is an ideal place.

For safety measure, it is always best to keep your dog on a leash and within your control. These parks are great places to take your fur baby, but if things ever go wrong and you are bit by another dog, it can be wise to seek legal representation from an experienced dog bite attorney. Contact Kaufman Law with questions if you or a loved one have been a victim of a dog bite or attack.
