Winter weather is expected to hit North Georgia and Metro-Atlanta tonight and into Tuesday morning. A cold front is moving in that could bring a wintry mix and possibly snow. The National Weather Service has scheduled a winter storm watch that will remain in effect until 4 AM on Tuesday. The Georgia Department of Transportation is already preparing to treat the roads Monday night. With the Super Bowl LIII events going on, the Atlanta Mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, also wanted to note that special attention has been placed on heavily trafficked sidewalks, including those around Centennial Olympic Park and the Georgia World Congress Center.
Due to the chance of winter conditions and out of an abundance of caution, many schools and businesses have already announced their closing for Tuesday, January 29th.
